Recyclables numbered 1-5 & 7 should be taken to Swarthout's Recycling in Beaver Dams (no. 6 is Styrofoam and is not accepted). Bagged refuse may be disposed of there as well at the cost of $2.50/bag for up to a 40 gal. bag. Recyclables must be separated by type (aluminum, tin/steel, glass, paper, cardboard, plastic, etc.). No batteries, lightbulbs or tubes, window glass, broken glass, or any ceramic materials. Batteries, fluorescent tubes, TVs & other electronic devices, oil-based paints and solvents, tires, and other hazardous materials may be disposed of during the Schuyler County hazardous waste collection day held in September at the County barns off Decatur Street.
